Juniors Alyson Gannon and Josephine Nguyen getting ready to host the “entertainment spotlight” segment of “Inside Iona.” ICTV produces a bi-weekly show, “Inside Iona” filled with all sorts of content that has been happening on campus.
In the fall of 2015, the Iona College Mass Communications Dept. purchased a new set for its studio in the Murphy Center. This allows students to get experience sitting at an actual news desk.The TV studio has a series of equipment that is used to produce any show, including “Inside Iona.” Everything from the tri-caster, soundboard, cameras and duel monitors are all present in the studio setting.“Inside Iona” also produces its own scripts for the hosts. The scripts are then loaded in the Telepromter for the hosts to read.Iona College also has its very own student-run newspaper. The paper comes out bi-weekly and has a wide variety of news stories, including features and sports.“Inside Iona” is all student -produced, from the hosting to the post production. The hosts even get to use a Telepromter for the shows. Essential camera work and editing skills are a must.
